Frequently Asked Questions about Allegro House

How far ahead should we register?

If possible, it is best to reserve up to 6 months in advance;  however if you are approaching (or in burnout) you can call even at the last minute because there could be room available.  We do not want to miss the opportunity to serve you, so please call if you have an urgent need.

What is the cost?

The suggested donation is $495 per couple for 5 nights including all meals!

What accommodations do you provide?

The Allegro House is a “high end Bed & Breakfast” type retreat that provides all 3 meals each day.  A large open family room/library area is available as well as a lovely bedroom with luxury queen sized bed, private bath, hair dryer, comfortable seating, and private front entry.  A covered porch off the bedroom offers the options of enjoying your meals al fresco, having quiet personal conversations, or enjoying a refreshing drink together.  Our guests have been thrilled with these lovely accommodations.  A quiet and beautiful place to recharge.

Can we bring children or pets?

No. We are an adult retreat facility for Pastors, Missionaries, and their spouses.  Allegro House and its staff does all it can to provide a special time to be away from family and ministry responsibities.  A time to restore and rest together with God.

Is there any ‘program’ at Allegro House?

There is a 2 hour window during the evening meal for either personal or couple consultation with our resident Pastor Couple.  Your Pastor Couple has ministered on the mission field, in church leadership, and in personal ministry for decades, and have valuable experiences to draw from.  You may, of course, ask for addtional counseling time from the Pastor Couple as you require; they are there to serve you.  We do not offer professional counseling or therapy sessions.  Contact us if you believe you need professional help and we will offer a selection of additional Christian resources.

What is there to do at Allegro House?

Year ’round: Explore God’s beautiful creation.  Miles of walking trails, both paved and unpaved.  Biking, reading, golf can be arranged.  Summer: tennis, canoeing, boating, fishing, and swimming in the pool.  Lawn croquet, target shooting or just sitting in the sun.  Winter: Skiing, snow shoeing and/or ‘tubing’ in the surrounding hills.  We are located in a beautiful mountain valley where sunrise and sunset are medicines for your soul.

Can we stay for just 2 or 3 nights?

Guest check-in is anytime after 3PM on Sunday, with check-out after breakfast on Friday morning.  Most of our guests say that it took them a day or two to unwind, relax, and get physically refreshed before they could actually  begin to emotionally and spiritually engage; therefore we do not recommend shorter stays and have no rate reduction schedule for early departure.

Are you ‘Open’ on a year ’round basis?

Yes.  Please review our calendar on this site.
